History
First Satsang was
started in Ashton by Durgeshbhai Dave in 1971, when he made
Kishorebhai Desai’s family satsangi and both decided to
do satsang weekly.
1971
17th August the first weekly sabha was started on every Saturday
at Kishorebhai’s residence - 66 Princes street. In that sabha,
Thakorbhai’s family, Bakulbhai, Mukeshbhai, Rajendrabhai,
Bhupendrabhai, Maganbhai Patel’s family, Harshadbhai (P. Chinmaiswami),
Mukehsbhai, Dineshbhai, Vijaybhai Patel’s family, Gopalbhai’s
family, Kantibhai Patel’s family, Mohanbhai Patel’s family,
Vikrambhai Patel’s family, Rameshbhai’s family, Jagidishbhai
Brahmbhatt’s family, etc. started to come for Satsang.
1971
P. P. Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s first Janmajayanti was celebrated.
1972
Maharaj’s Janmajayanti was celebrated at Hurst Cross Community
Hall. Prafulbhai Patel, Dr. Swaminarayan, P. C. Patel and
Yuvaks came from London to attend this celebrations.
1972
Kishorebhai Desai, Naginbhai Mistri, Kantibhai Patel and Thakorbhai
went to India to participate with P. P. Swamishri in Special
Train Trip for India.
1974
P. P. Swamishri came to U K and visited Ashton. Sabha was
at Dunkinfield Town Hall, Hurst Cross Community Hall and Bharatiya
Mandal. Swamishri’s accommodation was at Thakorbhai’s residence.
The meeting was held between Swamishri and Haribhaktos. In
that it was decided to buy the house of Balubhai and Gopalbhai
for Satsang kendra.
1974
Harshadbhai Patel decided to become Sadhu who went with Swamishri
to London and than to India. (P. Chinmaiswami)
1974
The London mandir Murti’s came to Ashton at Thakorbhai’s house
as in London bigger Murti’s were consecrated.
1975
As the mandir in Cowhill was ready, On Akha Trij Murti were
shifted their. The first pujari was Kantibhai Patel.
1977
P. P. Swamishri came to U K. During that visit he came to
Ashton and huge procession took place. After that, Murti’s
were consecrated by Swamishri.
1980
P. P. Swamishri came to U K. In that time one old factory
was borrowed at 29 Russell Street which was converted to Hari
Mandir after some alteration and renovations.
1981
Dineshbhai went to India to become sadhu. (P. Anandmuniswami)
1985
P. P. Swamishri visited Ashton during U K visit. Nitin Patel
went to India for Sadhu’s diksha. (P. Vimaljivanswami)
1988
P. P. Swamishri visited Ashton during U K’s visit.
1991
Mandir was renovated.
1994
P. P. Swamishri visited Ashton during his visit to U K. Huge
procession of marble Murti’s took place in city. The first
Marble Murti’s were consecrated by P. P. Swamishri in U K
at Ashton after that procession.
1995
London Mandir was opened by H.D.H. Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
