The devastating earthquake that shock Kachchh
has not only wrought physical destruction on a horrendous scale but
also brought immense emotional trauma to those who have survived but
lost family and loved ones, as well as much of their livelihood.
At such times of tragedy the faith bearing people of India have always
sought strenght and solace from a spiritual source.
According to ancient Hindu tradition ceremonial ritual is performed
on the 12th day of the death of a loved one. Keeping with this age-old
tradition, a special 'Yagna' (offering prayers) has been arranged by
BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, inspired by its spiritual leader HDH Pramukh
Swami Maharaj.
For the peace of the deceassed souls and the prompt recovery of those
injured, the ceremonial ritual will be conducted by hindu priests according
to an ancient Hindu codes of rites prescribed in the Vedas. The ceremony
will include prayers, chanting of Vedic mantrasand offerings made into
a sacrificial pit of fire.
We invite to share in this event and offer their respects.
