Yet why do we find it difficult to put this into practice in our
lives?

Swamishri : Because the desires of modern man are forever increasing.
He knows that there is only discontent in wealth, yet he still runs
after it. It’s nothing new. As Duryodhan once said:
Janami dharman na cha me pravruttihi...
I know the path of dharma but cannot tread it.
I know the path of evil but cannot shed it.
Similarly, we know that conflicts are caused by wealth, yet we can’t
stop ourselves. See how people are murdered today in the quest for
power and money.
