Searching Question Fulfilling Answer
Each person struggles through

live. For some the trials are

overpowering, for others a bored

status quo prevails,and

for a minority mountains are

pounded to dust in

the search for meaning and joy.

Within the invisible depths of

each soul there is a yearning.

A need to know ‘Why?’.

‘Why do we live?’,

‘Why do we experience problems?’,

‘Why are we travellers on the

journey of life?’.

In the search for answers to

their uncertainties many turn to

the God-realised Saint.

    Bhakti
Question

Brian Hutchinson : How does a disciple mentally offer bhakti to his guru? And how does the guru himself do bhakti?
Answer

Swamishri : One sees God and guru to be totally faultless. No matter how the guru behaves, he never doubts his actions and whatever the guru says, he accepts as the truth. With such trust one attaches himself to his guru and then Bhaktyanuvruttya....he observes the inner wishes of his guru; that is bhakti. The guru offers similar devotion to God. He believes God to be the all-doer, free from evil instincts and human weaknesses. He is, in a word - nirdosh.
Question

Often, as a form of devotion a devotee likes to honour his guru and present him with lavish gifts. And usually out of humbleness and a lack of desire for such objects, the guru does not accept such gifts. So then the devotee offers such devotion mentally, where he can give all he desires. Does the guru offer the same type of devotion to God?
Answer

Swamishri : Yes, the guru makes the same offerings to his Lord. He sees God seated opposite him, accepting all the gifts and praises which he showers upon Him.
