    Swamishri performs patotsav arti
    • 7 December 2006 (V.S. 2063, Magshar vad 3) Thursday, Anand
Swamishri performed the arti of Thakorji on the occasion of Anand mandir’s seventh consecration anniversary (patostav). In the evening Swamishri performed arti of Thakorji at Akshar Purushottam Chhatralay, Vidyanagar, on the occasion of its consecration anniversary (patotsav). This was followed by a celebration of Swamishri’s birthday according to the English date at Akshar Farm. Viveksagar Swami discoursed on Swamishri’s saintliness. BAPS children and youth performed a traditional dance. Thereafter senior sadhus garlanded Swamishri. Finally Swamishri blessed the assembly, “Today we have celebrated the patotsav. Whatever bhakti we do for God is divine, because God is divine. There is not an iota of maya in him. His speech, walking, travelling, or whatever he does is divine. He is the form of bliss. Doing his darshan, listening to his talks, sitting besides him gives happiness. He is the abode of happiness. Such is his glory. It is because of him that we are celebrating today. Whatever we do for him will become our means to reach his abode. So celebrate such festivals, engage oneself in his darshan and listen to spiritual discourses. This will give peace within.”
Finally all the devotees performed arti and dispersed after having mahaprasad.

... engaged in darshan of Shastriji Maharaj
    • 11 December 2006 (V.S. 2063, Magshar vad 7) Monday, Anand, Mahelav
Swamishri departed from Anand and arrived in Mahelav at 11.55 pm. Swamishri went straight to Shastriji Maharaj’s birthplace for darshan. After performing dandvats Swamishri sat down before the murti of Shastriji Maharaj and prayed. Thereafter Swamishri went for darshan of the shrine where Dungar Bhakta had narrated the Mahabharat katha.
In the evening assembly Viveksagar Swami discoursed on ‘Akshardham – One Goal’. Then children and teenagers of Mahelav performed a traditional welcome dance. In conclusion Swamishri blessed the congregation, “Mahelav is a great holy place. It has been sanctified by Maharaj. Maharaj stayed here with his sadhus and devotees whenever he travelled from Gadhada to Vartal. Furthermore you are all blessed because Shastriji Maharaj, who enshrined the principle of Akshar and Purushottam in mandirs, was born here.”

           Care for Standards
    • 9 December 2006 (VS 2063, Magshar vad 5) Saturday, Anand
Swamishri inaugurated the four-storey guesthouse built opposite the BAPS mandir in Anand. Then he visited all the four floors and sanctified the rooms. While inspecting the construction Swamishri enquired about the height of the staircase steps. The architect and engineer who had designed and built the guesthouse replied that they were six inches high. Swamishri was sceptical about their reply, but remained quiet. However, a little while later he asked, “Don’t you think they are a little too high?” The officials replied confidently, “No, they are six inches high.” Again Swamishri remained silent and looked questioningly at the steps. Immediately a measuring tape was brought and the steps were found to be 6.75 inches high. Swamishri advised, “Today people make 5 inch high steps. And that is how high they should be.”
Swamishri’s eye for standards and care for the devotees’ comfort are noteworthy.

           Easing Distress
    • 10 December 2006 (VS 2063, Magshar vad 6) Sunday, Anand
A devotee expressed his brother’s woes before Swamishri. He said that his brother, who was present with him, and brother-in-law had jointly started a business. Later, due to personal differences the business did not take off well. His brother lost his capital investment and his relationship with his brother-in-law broke down. Both were no longer on talking terms with each other. The brother cried on remembering his loss.
Swamishri explained to the devotee’s brother, “The more you harbour bitterness and pain, the more you will be at loss. Forget whatever that has happened. As long as there is bitterness between you, both of you will be miserable. Shedding tears will not bring anything back. You will get peace by believing that it was God’s wish. You have to start talking to him. If there is unity then you will regain your wealth soon. Now forget that it was he who had caused a loss to you. If any loss by him was fated due to God’s wish, then it has happened. Learn to be happy with this understanding.”
Swamishri gently, and with loving advice and understanding eased the bitter pain in the young man’s mind.

           A Little for the Soul
    • 12 December 2006 (VS 2063, Magshar vad 8) Tuesday, Anand
A devotee came for Swamishri’s darshan. Formerly he was doing a lot of satsang and came regularly to the mandir. But due to bad company he got hooked to drinking liquor and thus stopped doing satsang. Swamishri asked him, “Why are you not coming here?”
“A lot of my time goes into doing business. There’s no time left for satsang,” the devotee offered an excuse. Swamishri countered, “So many in the world run businesses an still attend satsang regularly. If they can take time out then why can’t you? When your relatives arrive don’t you have to take time out for them? Similarly, you have to do it for God. Come once in a day for darshan to the mandir. Make all efforts to earn, but you also have to do something for your soul.”
“He has become habituated to drinking liquor,” someone revealed.
“Yes, that’s why you have stopped coming to the mandir. Instead of stopping to come to the mandir, you should stop drinking!” Swamishri inspired him with care and love to do satsang.
