In the hot summer months of Chaitra and Vaishakh when the temperature
soar to 43° - 45°C the small murti of Shri Harikrishna
Maharaj, worshipped by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, is adorned with
chandan (sandalwood paste) to keep it cool.
Prior to application of chandan Shri Harikrishna Maharaj is devotionally
awakened in the morning. The murti's teeth and mouth are washed
by placing a toothbrush with a dab of toothpaste and a tongue
cleaner. The to wash the mouth, water is poured in a bowl. Then
Shri Harikrishna Maharaj is bathed in fragrant cool water. After
drying with a soft towel Shri Harikrishna Maharaj is placed on
a pedestal for application of chandan. Once the chandan is applied
it is adorned with lace, cloth and colorful decorations |
