Summer vacations
are usually wasted away watching television at home. To build
an attitude of serving our society, the Sanstha organized a novel
idea that found tremendous success. ‘Project Prayer’ sent groups
of the Sanstha’s Children volunteers to hospitals to pray and
give comfort to the patients. No distinction was made of caste,
class or religion of the patients. The children visited each hospital
for three consecutive days. The boys visited the male wards and
the girls visited the female wards. On the last day, the children
usually presented a flower to each and every patient as a sign
of friendship and warm wishes.
- In 1994, 500 boys and girls
visited 70 private and government run hospitals in various
areas of Mumbai during the summer vacations.
- In 1995, children visited hospitals
in cities like Mumbai, Surat and Amdavad during the summer
vacation.

Patients met: 22,691
- In 1997, children visited 8
hospitals in Kolkata from B.M. Birla Heart Research Center
to Kothari Medical Center, meeting a total of 773 patients
during the month of May.
