In 1985, the BAPS helped to set up the medical college in Karamsad
named Pramukh Swami Medical College.
Helping
Medical Students
- Every year, BAPS gives financial
help to needy medical students in the form of scholarship
and books. In this manner the Sanstha has helped many students
to achieve their academic ambitions.
- Medical Education coaching classes
are run by Pramukh Swami Health Services in a specially allocated
lecture hall for medical students. Professors from medical
colleges regularly deliver lectures and practical demonstrations
to medical students twice a week.
- 60 doctors have gained postgraduate
degrees and 10 doctors gained D.M. and M.Ch. qualifications
in various super speciality branches.
- At some of the Sanstha’s centers,
doctors and professors provide professional medical career
guidance to those who wish to pursue medicine or other medically-related
fields. This has been extremely successful as most have no
idea about educational opportunities.
- A special annual conference
for medical students is regularly organized. Medical students
from all over the country converge at this conference that
motivates, inspires and provides useful information related
to medical students. Total number of students who participate
is around 1300.
- Personality development and
character-building is specially catered for through spiritualism
in their personal life. Weekly spiritual meetings are regularly
conducted at medical hostels by learned sadhus of the Sanstha.
