the past three days BAPS has been rendering relief work at Bhuj, Bhadra, Morbi,
Surendranagar and Amdavad. BAPS saints and volunteers are working day and night
in this mammoth rescue and relief operation. Food packets from all major centers
of BAPS are being sent to the affected areas and a special shipment containing
over 350 tonnes of essentials is soon to reach Bhuj - the worst affected area.

Bhuj |
At present 25 sadhus and 100 volunteers of BAPS are
engaged in relief work in Bhuj. Arrangements are being made by volunteers to start
a relief kitchen center at Bhachao and Rapar and to send food packets to Khavda. |
Morbi | A
relief center has been opened in Morbi and food packets were prepared and distributed
in 5 villages, namely : Bagthada, Biliya, Kantipur, Godpar and Rajpar. |
Bhadra | On
a daily basis, 5,000 food packets are being distributed to the affected villages
in Jodia region from the relief center in Bhadra. |
Amdavad |
The aftermath of the earthquake has left many residents
homeless and anxious about the safety of their fractured apartments. Four relief
centers in the suburbs of Amdavad namely Satellite, Paldi, Bapunagar and Jivraj
Park are providing food and shelter to the victims. Today volunteers have distributed
5,000 food packets, offered lunch and dinner to 4,000 people and shelter to 830
people. More than 200 volunteers are offering their services at the four centers. |
Surendranagar | Volunteers
and sadhus of the BAPS mandir in Surendranagar are suplying food to 300 patients
and staff members twice a day. (for next ten days) |
